Ignore the angry nerds, your kids will love it - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I saw the movie this afternoon and the theatre was FULL of lil kiddies. I didn't realise school was out today or I wouldn't have went so early. Anyway ALL the kids were loving the movie and making a bunch of hollerin and clapping during the fight scenes and such. SO IGNORE THE COMIC BOOK NERDS and remember Spiderman is for the KIDS or the inner kids in all of us!
Spiderman falls flat on its face!!!! - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
While this was hyped up my excitement grew, waited for the First showing at midnight and will tell you my time would have been better spent sleeping... While the effects were great the story and acting were disappointing. It lacks plot and seemed to me the actors have lost their touch that made the First and Second movies great. Wait to see it until it comes out on DVD, or better yet wait till they show it on TV. I thought it was that bad. It may have not been SO bad if it wasnt as long as it was, but the length combined with the VERY POOR story just makes this movie go down as "one of those very expensive movies to go down in history as a flop". That being said, if you have a patient 10 to 15 year old they might find it good and only good. WHAT A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! For the sake of us who like Spiderman I hope they dont make another.

worst spider man ever! Toby goes emo...what the hell this movie was crap, i almost threw up cause i was so bored and pissed off!
Disclaimer: don't see this moive - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Anyone that is a fan of any type of comic book hero will feel like they've just been robbed after seeing this movie. I really don't think they even bothered to edit this movie. At first, Spidey 3 follows the same formula as its predecessors and does alright. The fight scenes were pretty amazing, and that's the only positive thing about it. There are too many plot lines and conflicts that don't follow through. The moive is filled with useless scenes that are supposed to be humorous. The scenes however almost want to make you walk out of the theater, and I'm sure people did. I seriously almost wanted to ask for my money back.
Ok at best... - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
for me its tough to give my true opinion of this movie...i thought that the first one was good and i absolutely hated the second one...so part of me was distinctly set on not liking this movie...
anyways with that being said and after truly thinking about it, i can say that this movie is ok at best...
to truly enjoy this movie, just treat it as a popcorn flick and dont try to compare it to the first two...even though its better than the second one, it just doesnt live up to the hype and doesnt deliver like it should...
the things that drag this movie down, drag it down a great deal...
first of all, tobey maguire has become a lousy spiderman...anything that he had going for him in the first movie left him in the second one and in this movie, he pretty much just buried himself...i dont want to give away any plot details or anything but just be prepared for about a 20 minute "My Chemical Romance" music video thrown in about halfway into the movie with the maguire as the lead singer...
the focus on villains also is poorly done in my opinion...again i dont want to give the movie away but if you are like me, then you are left wondering what they are planning on doing with one certain villain if anything at all...and if they dont do something, i think there will be alot of unhappy people walking away from this franchise...
im gonna start wrapping this up now but i could go on for a lot longer...
but this movie contains one brief scene that is one of the dumbest and stupidest things i have ever seen in a movie ever...when spiderman flies in to save the day, he flies across a large american flag and it turns into a brief screen shot...i was about ready to get up and leave right then and there...absolutely pointless and just plain stupid...
so i know that most of the world is going to see this movie but when you do end up going, just go for the effects and semi-entertainment...cause this is another movie that does not live up to the hype...

Funny,action, yet missing a good plotline - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Of course I had to go see the midnight show, and while some will love this movie and others will hate it, I was stuck in the middle. The movie started with the same slowness then it started reaching its emotional state and caught me in it.Special effects were the best no doupt about it, though it was like the spider man 3 movie had to live up to its hype that they created it so it was too gaudy. There are scenes where its just "ok come on thats just for show" The sandman was great but he was just there to make another villain. Venom was another of the villains and yet he was only really needed to be there so spiderman can fight with someone. Not to mention Green goblit jr. there were too many villains and not enough seriousness in the movie to have made it a movie you could watch over and over again because it captivated you..i recommend to go see it..you'll have a good time watching it...but sadly its a one time see movie.
A life-long spidey fanatic says... - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
disapointing. Not horrible, but it gets to be too much.
Friends have said I was too harsh on the first two films, which, with minor problems, I still really love. But this one, after a point, it just got to be too much.
SPOILER ALERT:
Starting off - after a short time, the action kicks in, and its great to see the Harry/Goblin Spidey battle, but visually, parts move actually too fast for the eye to keep up, and other times, the CG is obvious. For the most part the visuals are great though.
The problems with the film are more in the script/story and acting though. A meteor crashes into central park, close enough to a couple and they dont notice it? No one does? This could have simply be rectified if the "Rami crew" took the story line from the animated series and have John Jameson bring it back from space...MJ connection, etc etc, but instead, we have something far fetched instead - I can live with it though.
What I have more problems with is funny (somewhat) but completely unescesary moments that not only werent integral, but acually hurt the movie. Peter's "fashion show" walking down the street to music is dumb, (at least in 2, the "raindrops" sequence was short - although dumb) and then not only does Peter adopt an "emo" haircut but he can play piano and cut a rug? Come on now. This as well as MJ and Harry making omletes should have been left on the cutting room floor.
Sandman is a great villian, and I understand that a character needs make "extra" motivation to go after a bad guy, but should he have been tied in with Uncle Ben's killing? No. SOrry, uh-uh, it doesn't work - espescially for the overall story line. To couple with this - Spider-Man/Peter Parker is not a killer, and even if he just "thought" he killed Sandman - this completely goes against his character. Sorry, Spider-man DOES NOT KILL. I don't care suit/alien symbiote taking him over or not, he doesn't kill.
While is it nescesarry for Peter to remove his mask every 5 minutes? Is it in Tobey's contract? Speaking of which - get rid of Macquire at this point. He will never be known for the role as Christopher Reeve was for Superman. Not the same - not to us die-hards anyway. And while I'm at it, Kirsten Dunst is no MJ either - that should've been Bryce Dallas Howard (um...MUCH hotter than Dunst AND a natural redhead - DUH! You casting people and your "names").
Thomas Hayden Church and Topher Grace are GOOD in their roles respectively, but I kept wondering if maybe Church should've played Venom instead?
By the end, it just gets plain ole' campy. I felt like I was watching a bad monster movie and then everyone cries and sacrifices themselves at the end. And while we're at it - keep the jesus paralles OUT OF COMIC MOVIES. It was done to DEATH in Superman returns (blatantly obvious) and in Spidey 2 with the train sequences. This, can we have MORE church shots and sacfrices - along with preaching? I mean seriously, enough is enough.
If they're going to do a 4,5, and 6 as rumored - time for a new cast, writers, and director.
'Nuff said.
Best of three!!!! - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Action packed with a simple plot. It was as comical as it was dramatic. Fills in the blanks for those only familiar with the movies. Great ending. My 4,5,6 year old irish twins stayed up til midnight to watch this one and all three boys dressed as spiderman for the show. I expected them to snooze through the last half but instead they were awake and excited til the end. No one fell asleep watching this movie. They were wide awake and yelling at the screen. Gotta see this one on the big screen. Be prepared for some cheese. After all it is a comic. Overall it was well worth the money, time and trouble to go see at midnight. Enjoy.

Horrid- i'm sorry but it's true. - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
This movie was so sloppy. It wanders around during the plot, it was sappy, the actors were lazy, the directing was horribly. The only good thing was the visuals but who cares at that point. I loved the first two and I can honestly say I wasn't disappointed because of high expectations - this movie was just a horrible piece of film. There was about 10 minutes of good stuff. ie. French restaurant and Peter on the phone asking forthe cookies and milk. Other than those 2 little scenes and some decent acting by Topher Grace or whatever his name is this movie was a trainwreck.
I think everyone is with me when i say wtf?!? - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
This movie killed all the other spiderman movies. For action it gets an A++ and for acting, well its not really the actors fault. But omg, this was pretty bad. I mean when the dark Peter came out with the black hair and eye liner, i waited knowing someone would say it, until i heard "HE'S EMO!!!!!!!!" the whole audience started bursting out laughing, and this was a full house. There were scenes when the actors were being dead serious, and the audience was laughing so hard. Full grown men infront of me were crying. That's how bad this was.
Sucked!! - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I was bored and couldnt wait for it to end. Everytime I thought it would end, OMG there was another scene! Cliche after cliche after cliche.

So bad i had to write a review 2 warn you! - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
#1 They tried to do too much!
Why do superhero movies feel so compelled to litter the screen with multiple villains? Venom by himself is interesting enough. Sandman by himself is interesting enough. Green Goblin when done well is very interesting enough. We do not need three villains at once. And guess what Hollywood you are incapable of delivering a good movie with this much going on. Keep it simple stupid!
Add to the mix the whole ongoing MJ and Stacey thing and you have one awful patchwork of plots and subplots jammed into a 2 hour waste of time.
Imagine taking the best Spidey comic books and cutting them up into one Frankenstein comic book with bits and pieces of each. That is Spiderman 3!
The fight scenes were awful. Too dark could barely see. Way too much time spent fighting in the air.
The story makes little sense 2 many coincidences throughout this patchwork. So and so just happens to be here and here ect. That's just weak amateur story telling.
Because it is so crammed and rushed the way they make Peter flip to the darkside is too quick and too silly. Put down the copy of that musical please when writing Spidey. The pacing is so off. Because they crammed so much into it the pacing is like driving with your Grandma who stops and starts abruptly and randomly.
I saw this movie done well once it was called Spiderman. Spiderman 3 is the same story. MJ is captured by the villain and we end in a cemetery.
This was garbage. Save your money and your children!
What an upset!!! - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Ever since seeing Spiderman 2 I had waited and waited with much anticipation for Spiderman 3. I was so disappointed. The story was too complicated with too many new characters and subplots. They tried to fit too much into one film. The acting was worse than normal, and I wasn't sure if the actors were trying to be that bad or if it just comes natural. The writers of the script made some weird choices when it comes to humor, and either this story was written REALLY badly, or the actors just couldn't pull off their characters while still staying in a character that aligns with the previous films. The visuals were great, as usual, but they can always improve. Overall, I stayed up till 2 in the morning to see this movie, and I was so disappointed. They really could have done so much better, and I feel like a sucker for going to see it. How much of this bull can they get away with while taking all of our money?
Spiderman tangled in his own web.... - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
This movie fails in so many ways. I'll first start off that im a huge fan over the series so far as well as the comics.
From the opening credits, this film lacked the engery and charisma as the two previous movies. The story was slow and focused too much on the three plots(Peter and Mary Jane/ Peter and Harry/ Peter and Flint,Eddie) going in every which direction. The main cause of this was trying to overdue the two previous movies with more effects, more story, more characters. There simply wasnt enough time to cram all of these elements into this movie. Sadly the acting wasnt very good either. Toby and Kirsten didnt do a good job at making us believe the story. Too much "ups and downs" as far as the personallity and where the characters were headed. No one had time to make us believe the characters. Such as Kirsten in Spiderman 2 going from the last scene to head over heels for Peter, into Spiderman 3 being wrapped up in herself and constantly negative. The consistency isnt there between the characters and thus makes for a long, drawn out movie that you fall out of interest in. I heard previous upon one of the first screenings in the middle of last year that fans said there wasnt enough action involved and too much story... VERY CONCERNING that this movie felt like the same thing, so what happened in the year they had to resolve that and all of the reshoots they did????? Overall, this movie is worth watching BUT i wouldnt even compare it in the series. Very cheesy dialogue, at times very fake visuals, and no substance to the characters.

Spiderman 3: mediocre and arbitrary - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I had thought when going into this movie that it would be either be really good or really bad. I was wrong. It was an ok movie with no stand out qualities and a lot of very arbitrary placement. I think that in order for the movie to be deemed good, it should be able to stand on its own without supplements from the comics. Everything in here assumed you knew who everyone was and why they were created the way they were. We're introduced to 2 brand new characters, and none of them get any backstory... They just immediately hate spiderman. Also, whats with the random meteor drop with goo inside? And who does random tests in the middle of the night on sand? It just threw things in haphazardly, nd I couldn't quite wrap my head around it. All told, its not a bad movie. Its just not that good either.
A definite change of pace - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
As this summer's most anticipated movie opens,
moviegoers will undoubtedly ask themselves if this movie as is good as they imagine it to be. However, most people will be asking themselves that same question well after they've watched the movie.
Let's begin with the visuals: absolutely amazing
(pun intended). The Sandman, one of the reasons this movie was so awaited, looks stunningly real, down to the grains of sand that make him up. Harry Osborn looks better than his father in costume, as he wears a darker, more utalitarian version of the Goblin's flight suit and glider. And finally, the symbiote-- and what becomes of it-- is absolutely awesome to behold.
The fight scenes: again, amazingly done. In a
nutshell (without giving away too much), Spidey's
fights with the movie's villains are excellently
executed, reflecting how Spider-man has managed to survive this long in the comics, all the while
battling villains stronger and more powerful than he is. Think about it: how do you defeat someone that's made of sand, anyway? And how do you defeat someone that can do everything you do, yet is faster and stronger than you are?
His battles with the villains, however, pale in
comparison with his battles with himself. And this brings us to the very core of the movie.
The movie feels like a graphic novel on screen with its treatment of each character and what makes him tick. So much attention is given to
characterization, in fact, that you understand the key concept of the movie: that everyone is given a choice, and what each person decides for himself affects that person and the world around him. Viewed from this perspective, there is no right or wrong choice; everything is up to the one that makes the decision. However, every decision has its repercussions-- and those repercussions ultimately show if the decision was right or wrong.
And yes, making the wrong decision isnt necessarily the end. There will always be a chance to make things right, as evidenced by Peter and Harry, Peter and Mary Jane, and even the Sandman hinself.
All this depth, however, comes at the expense of
something, something a moviegoer will not be
immediately able to express into words. Was it an
entertaining movie? Big yes. Was it worth your
money? Again, another yes. Were you satisfied?
Umm...
Maybe it was the fact that this movie could have
done with better editing to make it feel like a
movie. Maybe it was the fact that it starts to feel like a Spider-man movie only somewhere in the middle. Maybe there just wasn't enough time to tell the story properly in this medium. But there is definitely something missing, something that doesn't make Spider-man 3 into the exhilirating thrill ride that Spider-man 1 or 2 was.
But whatever it is, it isn't enough to keep Spider-man 3 from being a good movie. Go and watch it. Have fun. And if you figure out what's missing, drop me a line. I'll be watching this movie again to find out
for myself too.
Strong themes, good values - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Sam Raimi directed another great Spiderman film. There are strong themes that display good moral character: forgiveness, mercy, trust, true humility, truth, honesty and redemption.
Sam Raimi carefully shows contrast in emotions, characters, and most poignantly---values. Without spoiling anything, the bad guys each make choices. The consequences of those choices are poison or redemption, but the contrast was clear.
Revenge hardens hearts. The scene in the church with the holy water font symbolizing baptism and a call for forgiveness was contrasted with Venom asking Jesus on the Cross to make another suffer. Ironically Venom bears his cross and you'll have to see if he is the "Good Thief" or the "Bad Thief."
There is much to love about Spiderman 3.
There were touching moments of intergenerational mentoring with Aunt May and with the "Butler." The Landlord also comically mentors Peter.
I was impressed that Peter and MJ did not live together as I feared they would after Spiderman 2.
Sam Raimi must have read "Men are from Mars" as Spiderman puts on his "Mr. Fixit" hat for MJ instead of listening to her feelings. There is a good lesson for all men.
Sam Raimi subtly places all the women in charge of the lab where Sandman is created. Placing women in traditionally male roles was a great point to hit home. I noticed there were fewer "belly" shirts on the women and I thought that was a major improvement over the last two films.
There are two points in the film that I felt could have been handled better and it is admittedly nitpicky. First, the venom stuff from outerspace could have wound up on somebody else that commits a crime and Spiderman could have gotten from them. It seems a little too coincidental to have it fall right next to Spiderman. Secondly, Spiderman displayed great character in forgiveness to his enemies, but never apologizes to the Sandman. It seemed implied but it would have been stronger had he said it.
All and all, I am impressed with the whole series. The story ties up all the loose ends; however, there are still open doors with the "Lizard" and JJJ's son from SM2.

Really not good - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Without a doubt the biggest disappointment I have yet to see. Expectations so high that it was bound to be a little disappointing, but not this bad. If it wasn't a cut away to a cheesy smile of what seems to have been a mentally challenged Harry Osborne then it was an out of control action scene bound to make you vomit with movement. Not to mention the whole middle hour off the movie was so unbelievably dumb I almost left. I really just wish they would have shown Spiderman 1 or 2 and I would not have wanted my money back.
Did the guy who directed x-men 3 do spidey 3? - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
WTF happened? The effects were the only thing that carried this movie. There was no real character development. The characters didn't know where they stood half of the time. Are they bad, good, confused ,wondering if they left the iron on ,,, what happened ?
I loved the first two, they both left ya pumped and wanting more. I left the theater on this one and I felt robbed. Two much thrown into the story and nothing developed.
Point blank , venom should have had his own movie and so should have sandman.Make the script simpler , develop characters more and make a good story, make the audience actually care instead of giving only visual candy.
How disappointing - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Ok.....that was...uh...Interesting.... If you actually enjoyed the 3rd Matrix Film, or the Clooney Batman movie then this one is for you!
Scattered, without focus, and full of random things that make no sense.
As you leave, you just have wonder what exactly it was, that you just saw. Horrible Storyline.
Wow...While great effects, this is just a really bad film.... Too bad after all the Hype.

One word: entertaining - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Ok, does it live up to the hype? No. Is it still entertaining? YES!
Although I do think that Spider-man 2 is more well-written and overall a better movie, Spider-man 3 is hands down more entertaining.
Here are the things that you're probably worried about. The dance number? Not a huge deal. The audience that I saw it with at midnight loved it, and I thought it worked fine. Very similar to "Rain drops keep falling on my head" scene in the second movie.
Are there to many villains? Well, yeah, but the action is still amazing and the character development is present, but not as strong as the other two installments. They either should have kept Harry and the Sandman or Harry and Venom. Having all three makes things seem way too rushed. Venom was obviously added into the script in the last minute, and it REALLY shows.
Which brings me to my next point: they could have just made this movie about Harry Vs. Spider-man. I didn't think they could, but the first 30 minutes of the movie was simply amazing and it focused soley on Harry and Peter. That is the part of the movie that really works.
Here is the main point: there are three distinct movie plots that are trying to gain control over Spider-man 3. None of them prevail, which makes the plot seem confusing and almost non-existent.
Overall, the movie handles itself well, but could have been perfection if they settled down on what villains they wanted, what themes they wanted to present, and what conclusion they wanted for the series.
This movie is NOT Batman Forever or X3. Spider-man 3 is something that both of those movies wish they could have been: entertaing.
Spiderman fans rejoice - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
The Spiderman Movies are well known for casting excellent actors for the villian (Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina) but i must say Thomas Hayden Church and Topher Grace are by far the most compelling.
I enjoyed the story direction being an avid reader of every single comic and watching every single Spiderman cartoon. I found it easy to cope with the big differences. There were no loose ends and i find that so comforting.
I felt that it lost some of it's comic book feel but it still worked for me. The acting from the villians was far better than the acting of Spiderman, but Tobey did a great job. Kirsten Dunst I believe lacked a bit. I also didn't care for most of the comic relief.
So to wrap it up. If you want to like it you'll love and if you want to hate it you're missing out on a great story. In my opinion it's a must see.
To the reviewer about the whole "patriotic" scene. - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
If you had any brains or any knowledge at all you would know that the only patriotic thing they did was have Spidey swing in front of the American flag. The music that was playing was the ORIGINAL SPIDER-MAN THEME. You know..."spins a web any size, look out, here comes the Spider-Man". Horrible review by you for not paying attention and just wanting to bash the movie.
I loved the movie. Why is it that people don't like plots anymore?? It didn't have as much action as the other movies, but the storyline was great. It still remained focused on the main character even with 3 villains. Go see the movie...highly recommended.

D - for dumb humor - Wedding Crashers Reviews
I am simply let down everytime I get talked into going to an american made comedy. Who's rating these comedy movies... post pubescent boys and girls? I guess if you think bare breasted women, stupid cliches' and just plain dumb writing is funny... more power to you. I'll stick to the foreign comedies, until Hollywood can produce something more funny than this type of garbage.

A remake of "the mask", maybe? - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
This movie went completely overboard with the cheezy, and didn't let go. When the Venom goo takes ahold of Brock it transforms its host into a badass. But when it takes over Parker, wow, a whole different thing. Brock gets extra muscle and teeth. Parker gets an emo hairstyle and the false notion that he's got game.
What's the deal with Parker's lame-ass parading down the street making hand pistol gestures towards girls? Tack on some dreadful music and the worst dancing and there you have it.
And Maquire cant even act those parts well!
The scene where Parker is making out when another girl in front of MJ is where my whole "The Mask" thing kicks in. He jumps up, plays the piano suddenly, then hops across bars, tables, chairs all with some newly found, alien-enhanced talent to dance like Jim Carrey's green-faced character. I half-expected his jaw to drop, tongue roll out, and eyes bulge... or maybe even his cranium to transform into a wolf-head and howl his infatuation.
They could have easily deleted this combined 20 or so minutes of footage and added more Venom time, but I guess toning the theme down from "tough superhero" to "worse than X-men 3" was the goal.
In that case, mission accomplished.
I hate movies and i liked it - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
The critical success of the Spiderman films have always been due to the plots that correlate with the comics they are based on. People were wowed after the first two films but honestly it had little to do with the directing and acting and everything to do with the fact the Spiderman story is intriguing. Most people never read the comics so their only exposure to Spiderman was the 70's and 90's cartoon which provide a very superficial understanding of the character. The comics were more plot driven.
It's not a suprise why the critics hated it. Spiderman 2 was based on a series of issues that were very character driven. This movie is based on the more action inspired issues which include Venom. And with a character like Venom, you run the risk of him appearing really cheesy on the big screen if he is not done right. And he clearly wasn't done right. You can't star a Peter Parker clone in Topher Grace. They should have cast a bully-like character such as Vin Diesel or someone who is more physically imposing and would look like a raging psychopath. I also wasn't fond of the Green Goblin II not wearing a mask. He just looked like a skater on some air board from Back to the Future II. Lastly, Kirsten Dunst needs to starting acting like Mary Jane instead of Kirsten Dunst. Mary Jane is a hippie not a giddy 5 year old.
Overall, I liked this film and it offerred something different in each scene unlike Superman Returns which blatantly copied plotlines from Superman the movie.
Good: a great, exiting, must see thriller - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
A real great treat for the family, very easy to enjoy for the family. Contains a secretive but sad ending, that makes your heart thump. This movie truly is a great, exiting, must see thriller :). If you liked Spiderman 1 and 2 then this will be even more surprising and outstandingly fun. I haven't seen such a good movie like this since.... I don't know when. Even better than Night at the Museum, The Last Mimmzy, and even Harry Potter movies! This movie is really worth what was spent on it. Trust me, my friends, and my dad: this movie is one of the best. You really have to see it. The only thing is that don't expect too much; set your expectations low, and you'll be in for the most expensive, cool, and amazing thriller movie of your life!
Have Loads of Fun when you go to see this Oscar Worthy to outstanding movie.

Stupid story + stupid acting = total waste of time - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
It does not get any worse than this. How can such lousy actors, (after this TOBY MAGUIRE will retire since he has NO TALENT) writers and directors be paid so many millions I cannot understand. The truth is that that the A+++ rating should be given to the marketing machine that convinces 12 year old kids to bug the crap out of their parents that this is a must see BLOCKBUSTER event.
I was hoping it would be okay before I went but by the end of the first half hour I was just think PLEASE END ALREADY!!!
PARENTS: In 6 months it will be on Netflix, you can rent it for $1.50 and your kid can watch it while you mow the lawn or whatever. This movie SUCKED.
Just a bad film - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I'm always willing to give a popcorn film a chance. Some movies are fun and they're not supposed to be taken seriously. Nothing wrong with that.
Sometimes, though, you get the sense that the writers of these films, on occasion rather than taking pride in entertaining us, almost seem like they're mocking us.
Case in point Spider-Man 3.
The movie was just bad. It almost seemed like the writers took every cliched plot device they could think of and stuffed it in the film. The movie is just bloated, foolish, and uninteresting.
The sad part is, that there really was room for a good movie. There's a good story in there... Somewhere, but the movie is just too clouded with "The OC" style melodrama that you can't even take the "real" drama seriously.
When the humorless "comic relief" isn't popping up at inopportune moments when you're trying to take the action and drama seriously, it's unending and bizarre. Sometimes you need relief from the comic relief.
I'm sure some Spider-Man fans will still like it. That's fine. It's possible to be a fan of something to the point where your judgment is clouded.
For everybody else, you were warned.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot the special effects are pretty good.
Spiderman 3 outstanding!.......and sad... - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Spiderman 3 was neither the best spiderman movie, nor the worst.
Now, yes, the movie is really sad, and there are some disturbing moments in the movie.
The action/adventure sequences were great, and spidey's moves were awesome, there's just this little problem in the movie with having 3 bad guys, putting venom appear just like in the half of the movie, and there was this really cruel scene, in wich spiderman and harry fight, then peter starts telling him cruel commentaries, harry throws a bomb, spiderman catches it and throws it, it explodes right in front of Harry, then just walks away like nothing happened.
The movie's really long, and it's got a really sad ending.....but good..
You'll probably expect less of the movie, I hope u like it when u go see it, and no! it should not get a B-, it deserves at least a B+!(please do yourself a huge favor, and ignore the critics just once)

Not worth the money! - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Spiderman 3 was advertised as if it was going to be the best of the trilogy, the best of marvel so far, and the best ending you could have! . . . . Was it any of those? No! It had what I call the ending curse, you know like how X-Men 1 and 2 were really good then the 3rd one sucked, it's basically the same thing here. There was a story line in there somewhere, between the cheesy lines, the 3 bad guys thrown in there to add in screen time, and ALL the bad acting done by Tobey and Kristen themselves. And I would like to know What the F*** was going on with the whole peter parker acting like "The Fonz"? I mean I know it's an alter ego but please! Also the new character Gwen Stacy sucked as well. It just seems like marvel and everyone else decided to do a ***** job, because honestly that was the end result. The only good parts of the movie were the ones with venom! All 20 minuets of the film he was in, Also the actor that played him, the weirdo from that 70's show, sucked too! All in all if you want to see a movie that has great special effects, it's worth it! But if you would like to see a good movie, wait until May 18th when Shrek 3 comes out!
Venimous taste in mouth... - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Just got home from the midnight preveiw and I have to say I have a bit of a venimous taste in my mouth. I had very high expectations for this movie and I can't say I was disappointed but some of it was just a tad bit overdone. Yes, it was full of awesome fighting sequences and tons of action. Yes, It has a vague plotline, and a bunch of subplots. The only thing I found funny about this movie, though, is that they tryed too hard to add comedy to it and that some parts of it just didn't make sense. The vilians, seeking vengeance or redeption, just didn't seem so beleivable because their relationship to Spiderman/Parker wasn't nearly as deep or meaningful as the vilians in the previous movies. Venom's role was a little shortlived, but still fun, of course. It's just such a long detailed movie, with about 2 or 3 subplots, like the love connection, career goals, and personal problems that seemed to have a bigger impact on the movie than the main plot itself. Plus there were all these little added parts, such as the girl with the cookies and the random dancing while strollin on the street, plus a bit of cheesiness with the American Flag and other tidbits of things that didn't really add to the movie. I still wonder how they're going to come up with a 4th movie since it leaves you feeling like the majority of the issues have been taken care of, but there's enough to maybe scrap a last and final Spiderman film. Despite all the randomness and questionable themes, the movie still held tight pretty well and came out as a Great action flick with absolutely amazing visuals and a pretty decent storyline. It won't leave you completely satisfied, but if you're looking for a fun, interesting, and maybe a bit predictable Spiderman adventure then this movie's your ticket!
Spider-man, peter parker or little nicky? - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Well, let's start with this opening, what the hell sequel was this? Every part in this latest installment was not taken seriously at all, especially when you were laughing non-stop at all of the most serious parts. I had such high hopes thinking that the villians in this movie would be better than ever, but I proved myself wrong when Peter Parker becomes Venom but morphs into the Little Nicky character played by Adam Sandler. Furthermore, where was the chemistry between Dunst and Maguire? Franco, held it all together until his Butler told him how his father died, pardon my language here but when did this Butler become a C.S.I. investigator? I thought all Butlers go to a Butler school not that. Grace, was a horrible Venom, especially when he randomly jumps into the grenade, enough said about that. But, to make this short, Spider-Man is more a comedy, than a action-packed love story. After this latest installment, it's safe to say this rates just as worse as when Arnold Shwartzenegger played as Mr. Freeze in Batman And Robin. Please, save your money.

Half a billion dollars? for what? - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Im a 38YO married white collar male. Went with wife who liked it more than I did.
The first 30 minutes were real slow. Then some action picked up, then it went limp again with a decent finish.
Stan Lee's obvious bit part was horrible. Overacting abound, and the worst sound editing I've seen since 'Rockabilly Vampire'.
I also got a headache from all the strobe light type computer graphics of Spidey flying through NY.
Id had rather seen a whole movie on the sandman villian than Spidey! Even Sandmans storyline was better than the rest of the plot put together!
I thought King Kongs graphics was 50 times better.
Not to mention the story which is 75 years old!
Id say go to this movie if your under 25YO, or bring your kids.
Movie worth paying $3.50 (If you sneak your own candy in).
The death of the series... - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I have been anticipating May, 2007 for a very, very long time. This month will see, amongst several other quality releases, a trio of tri-quels from series that have each already produced two excellent, hugely successful releases. The competitions for viewers—and especially second-time viewers—will be huge. Analysts have placed their bets. Fan-boys and fan-girls are wetting their pants. Box office records will likely be shattered.
And it is amidst this level of hype that Spider-Man 3 swings onto the screen with a colossal thunk.
Our worst nightmare is confirmed: the curse of the tri-quel strikes again. Spider-Man 2 was superior to the first in nearly every way except earnings. The action scenes were cooler. The emotional scenes hit harder. Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) came of age in spectacular fashion, descending through a dark valley of self-doubt and emerging to save the day, get the girl, and once again win our hearts.
In Spider-Man 3, Spidey again descends into darkness—if "darkness" can be defined by bad hair, black eyeshadow, and hitting on everything with a pulse within fifty feet of himself.
The convoluted, overstuffed, throw-everything-at-the-screen and-hope-something-sticks plot goes something like this: When we last left our hero, he'd won the love of the fair Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) and the gratitude of New York City—but the hatred of his ex-buddy, disgruntled, alcoholic playboy Harry Osborn (James Franco).
In the film's best sequence—conveniently already made available on the Internet—Harry dons his daddy's Goblin suit and goes out to butcher his ol' buddy Pete. The first sign that something is going terribly wrong is when this results in Harry contracting amnesia, forgetting everything he's spent the last two movies getting pent up. (Wait, amnesia? Is this a Sam Raimi film, or General Hospital?)
Meanwhile, in a series of deus ex machina that boggles the mind, a meteor containing a strange black substance crashes to Earth—apparently on the outskirts of New York, seemingly unnoticed by anyone (including Peter and MJ, not a hundred yards away). At the same time, escaped murderer and petty-crook-with-a-heart Flint Marko (Thomas Hayden Church, impersonating a plank of wood) falls into an absurdly low-security particle accelerator and gets sandblasted into the Sandman.
It's a superhero flick—you suspend your disbelief for this long. But then things just get silly. The black substance, it turns out, is symbiotic in nature, and it slowly begins to corrupt Spidey. Unfortunately, the ads lie. The black spider-suit—featured in every poster—is onscreen for five minutes at most. Instead, director Raimi decides to focus on the slow degradation of Peter Parker's soul—including the aforementioned eyeshadow.
This leads to one of the most laughable middle portions ever committed to screen, and certainly the most laughable ever given a $300 million budget. As brilliant as Tobey Maguire is at playing sweet, dorky Peter Parker, he can't do "evil". ("Evil" Tobey was last seen raping Cate Blanchett in The Good German, another utterly ludicrous flick.) In a memorable shot, "dark" Peter stands in front of a mirror and—gasp—drops a black forelock over his face, bearing a sudden eerie resemblance to Pete Wentz. If you thought Spidey went emo in the second film, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Maguire leaves the mask off, instead pompously (and unconvincingly) strutting around Manhattan, shooting leers at the girls, and, like he just dropped in from Flashdance, busts out his moves across a nightclub bar.
Remember those couple very funny moments from Spider-Man 2—the snooty usher, the goofy violinist, the creepy landlord's daughter? Raimi has seemingly decided that the best way for Spider-Man to match Shrek the Third at the box office is to take those foibles and use them for two-thirds of the film. While several of these gags are funny, their overuse means that when Spider-Man 3 tries to get serious, it completely falls apart and instead turns from being intentionally to unintentionally hilarious. An audience should not be giggling maniacally through a protagonist's death—but they were in my theater.
There's some random stuff thrown in too, most of which doesn't work. MJ sings two musical numbers, which are dull and unnecessary—as is her two-minute omelet-making routine (what?) with Harry. The scenes with Aunt May (Rosemary Harris) have lost all emotional punch. Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard) and her father (James Cromwell) appear as unnecessary fan-service. The Sandman's action sequences are hit and miss. J.K. Simmons does manage to bring a little of the first two films back in yet another scene-stealing performance as Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson.
And then there's Venom (Topher Grace), also known as Peter's photographic rival Eddie Brock Jr.. If Venom had been saved for a fourth installment, given his own film a la the Green Goblin and Doc Ock, it would have likely been a thrilling success. Instead, Venom is an afterthought (the name "Venom" is actually never spoken in the film), appearing to inject a smidgen of life into the last segment of the film. Topher Grace plays the role with aplomb, easily overcoming his slight stature (Brock is heavyset and muscular in the comic series; this Venom seems to be inspired by the "Ultimate" continuity), and perfectly capturing the ordinary-guy-driven-to-hatred mentality. And he menaces a hundred times better than Maguire could dream of.
But Venom is in the film too briefly to ever use his legendary teeth—and the film itself has none. People were filing out of the theater well before the last shot, and the ones who remained were jeering derisively at the screen. Raimi and Maguire's canny evasion as to whether a fourth film is in the works now becomes clear. It's not a good thing when the most enjoyable part of an audience's night was the first two minutes of Fracture coming on by mistake.
BOTTOM LINE: Spider-Man 3 should spell the death of the series. Let's pray that Shrek the Third and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End hold up better than this piece of cinematic garbage. C-minus.

It had to happen sooner or later. - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Well... What can I say? I'm sad to say that again movie makers and directors never considered showing any of this stuff to real fans before turning it into a movie.
First, the positive:
The CGI and FX are Oscar Worthy!
Second, everything else:
Tobey was horrible playing someone who was trying to cry. But he made it up with his dancing!
The vilians were not given any time to develop. The only one who got a little bit of a chance was the Sand Man.
The New Goblin wasn't given a fair shot. Everyone was going to compare him to The Green Goblin and there is just no comparison.
Venom, was the major disappointment. I mean, the first words muttered by Venom in the comic books to someone else, to Mary Jane after she married Peter, gave me goose bumps... "Honey...", then the mask grew a very scary smile on his face, "I'm home." How could they have left that out???!!!!
Green Goblin and Doc Oc were given ample time to develop as characters so you'd be able to react with them and how Spiderman dealt with them.
As an Amazing Spiderman hardcore fan, I know why Venom/Brock knew stuff about Peter's personal life. That wasn't even explained in the movie. He just did.
Venom should have been given an alone movie.
Two villians were more than enough for Spiderman 3!
And Stan Lee, please... Your cameos are becoming sillier and more cliche every time. It would have been better if you played the same recurring character suprized to see something incredible happen without saying anything in any of the Marvel Comics movies you've been in... Nuff Said!!
After this movie's expected revenue, I doubt we'll get to see The Scorpion or The Lizard, will we?
Spider-man 3 is a stupid piece of trash-w/ good fx - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
The Trailers mad it look so good!
My friend and i went to see it the sunday after it came out. And just to show more about coporate america, the theater had three screens all showing 'Spider-Man 3'. We Came 20 minutes early to get seats, adn we ended up pacing around the room for 20 minutes.
As far as Tobey McGuire goes, he tries to interpret the sucky script well, almost equalivilent to his roles in Cider House Rules and and equalivilent sucky script with good Tobey being the Good German.
James Franco's charecter has no progression, anger or reason behind much. There was a great Bruce Campbell cameo though.
Sam Rami, the director, still knows how to use the camera when it comes to action.
The Visuals Are Amazing [2008 Oscar Winner!]
Now I must Boil Down to the bad part, this is where many movies fall apart-plot!
Here it is:
Some Random Guy [who happend to of killed Spideys uncle] is chased by the cops and is trying to raise money for his daughter. He slips into some machine thats perpose is unknown, and some how forms into sandman and then goes on a wild ranpage for no aparent reason. Meanwhile Peter parker is going to ask MJ to marry him when a big black piece of goo starts to blend with his suit.
He goes on a rampage and 'kills' sandman [only for sandman to comeback later]. Spidey realizes the suit is bad and disposes of it. Meanwhile Peter is having trouble at work with another photographer, who happens to get his hands on spidey's black goo suit, and after this photographer 'eddie' gets the suit, he becomes venom. MJ is having trouble at work and with peter, and Harry becomes the goblin to kill Spider-Man, and uses MJ to his advantage. Oh, Did I mention the 20 minute long Saturday Night Fever dances sequences, yeah, they're there. eathier way it all comes down to a boring sit in the edge of your seat and eat popcorn showdown that really blows. the premise of the film is Peter And MJ marrying, so guess the end--they don't. Anyways the plot is over done, and could have been 3 movies in one [Peter and MJ marrying with Harry in the way; Sandman; and venom]
I'm not going for spiderman 4!
C+ [i would say C- but the visual FX blow my mind]

Spiderman, peter parker, or peter pan? - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I hate to say it, but I really really wanted to give this movie an A. It just didn't make sense. It's like the writers of this movie took all the junk that needed to be fixed in the previous movies, including jealousy, rage, hatred, love, etc... and just plopped it all into one movie, tried to tie about 4 COMPLETELY different plots together, packaged it in a little nice "forgiveness" bow, and said "Alright now let's make another movie just to prove that we can still make money off the Spiderman name." I mean, the random dance scenes were a bit overdone, combined with the cheesy moments, such as the American flag waving as Spidey comes to the rescue, and the goofy lines stated by some of the characters, especially the Cheif of Staff for the newpaper. Also, what happened to all the other characters, they all just kind of sit there and go "Oooooooh Spiderman!" the ENTIRE movie. Not only that, the supposedly "evil" characters didn't seem nearly as harmful as they could've been and the ending just seemed a bit rushed. There was no reason for the "Sandman" to really be after Spiderman at all, nor the strange alienous Venom when you think about it. Venom's purpose is still a bit more clear than the Sandman's but either way, none of the villians seemed to have a reason to be so angry. Maybe the staff writer had a bit of a reason to be angry with Spiderman, but the main person to harbor resentment throughout all the movies was HArry, who in a surprise last minute change of heart helps Spiderman defeat the other villians, not for M.J. as the whole movie has it lead up to, but rather for Spiderman's friendship. Oh my, how heartfelt. With no threat left at the end of the movie, and basically no idea what in the hell just happened to my 2 and half hours and $8, I'm still left to thinking how on earth they're going to pull off a Spiderman 4 and if it will be as much of a plotdumster as this flick. If you really want to see this movie, it's redeeming factors are all about the action and the visuals. Visuals especially; that includes the people who dressed up for this movie only to realize that they should've come in a Pirate outfit.

Please... don't watch this movie in piracy dvd.... - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
finally, spiderman 3 out now...
this summer 2007 realy a great time for movielovers...
spiderman 3 is one of many reason why this summer will become a great event..
for movie lovers, this movie can't be missed...
a great battle on spidey1 and 2...
please don't watch this movie in piracy dvd or vcd.. never think that!!!
please make more extra money.. it;s really annoying if you buy the piracy vcd.. Oh my God.... you will never get the cool experience especially from the special effect if you don't watch it in the theatre..
this movie has a really cool and special effect was really outstanding than the previous movie..For action it gets an A+++++++ and for acting, well its not really the actors fault.
the villains, goblin, sandman especially venom really coooool... and also great.. but that's not enough..There was way too much going on in the movie and a lot of the villain didn't have as much screentime or development as I had hoped. But this movie wasn't as superior as the 2nd one. So go in expecting it to be good as the first one but not as good or memorable as the 2nd one.
the plot and story, this movie really poor for big movie or first class movie.. the plot was reallly missing and poor..
the big question for me is why Sandman causing so much destruction? Why did Eric want to kill Peter just because Peter exposed his fake photos and took his girlfriend to eat dinner?
Finally, the ending was really really really poor and unmiserable.... Superman 2006 especially Batman 2005, and also spidey 1,2 really better than spidey 3. but all over this movie really a great popcorn move... yeah.. really great for us to watch this movie.. also we have the fourth, right???
Amazing, a must see - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I, along with my friends, went and saw the midnight pre-release of Spiderman 3. I had high hopes that the movie would surpass the first two and it did. This movie's plot-line were unlike anything that was touched in the previous movies; such as action, suspence, comedy, tragedy, and a look into the darker side of the human psychy. Despite what the others have said about the movie, it is a great movie with probaby the best acting that we have been seen so-far. The movie takes a look at Peter Parker as a sucessful hero who becomes big-headed with his own popularity, to the dark-side of human nature, and finally to the triumph of good over evil. The movie ties together lose ends from the first two and does it with the overall theme of forgiveness. The reason that others disliked the movie is the fact that they don't take into consideration that heroes too are faced with difficult decision and must set right what they do to go on in life. Although the ending was a bit rough, at least the movie ended on a good note. All in all, the movie is definetly worth every cent you pay to see.
Good effects, but plot missing (warning: spoilers) - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I just caught the midnight showing of Spiderman 3 and I must say, even though the effects are well done, the story falters.
At times it got ridiculous...like why was Sandman even causing so much chaos and destruction? Why did Eric from That 70's Show want to kill Peter just because Peter exposed his fake photos and took his girlfriend to eat dinner? He didn't seem so volatile...
Also, there is one point in the movie that irks me. At one point, you see Spidey swing in front of a HUGE American flag, with patriotic music playing. Then, not 5 seconds after, some reporter with a BRITISH accent says something along the lines of "HE'S HERE TO SAVE US ALL."
What purpose did this serve, other than to blatantly imply that "ZOMG America is GR8 and Britain needs America!!11"?
On a final note, the ending was extremely weak. I left the theater feeling very disappointed, and judging by the reactions of others who were in the theater, I was not the only one.
Could this be the end of spider-man? - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
First off I will start off by staying that as I suspected after seeing Spider-Man 2 that they would cram a WHOLE lot more of material more characters, more plots, more action, and more drama so try not to be suprised.
The story pretty much picked up where it left off his normal life and it was going good until he wants to marry MJ and he plans on proposing to her and things pretty much go downhill from there. You will notice a change in Peter Parker SORT OF like how you saw a change in Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars.
The villains & visuals is one of the best things in the movie venom was the best he looked cool and yet managed to scare the crap out of me!
The movie was good granted but for some reason I think its all the things they put in here its just to much at one time! I liked the movie I didn't love it as much as the first and second but it was definately worth seeing. Belive the hype Soider-Man 3 was a good movie go see for yourself.
Sam raimi... what have you done? - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I'll try my best to keep this from becoming a fan-boy rant. I'm majorly disappointed with Raimi after coming home from the midnight show. Not to mention, I'm utterly confused as to why he'd call this a fitting end to what may be a trilogy.
The first Spider-man movie was excellent for it's first time at bat. I believe most would agree it had an endearing quality. Tobey really took this role and ran with it, not to mention a stellar performance by Willem Dafoe. While not quite perfect, it gave Spidey fans and the movie goers unfamilar with the concepts a fulfilling, well acted, stunning action movie. B+
Then here comes the sequel. Spider-man 2... uh oh, are we going to run it into the ground now? No, we're going to give you what most including myself without hesitation will call THE ABSOLUTE BEST, NEAR FLAWLESS SUPERHERO MOVIE OF ALL TIME. Alfred Molina had such a strong on screen presence, it was almost as though he was put here on this Earth to play Doc Ock. Wow, he really sold it. Stunning action sequences, realism, emotions, wow... just wow. A+
Then here comes 3, spoilers ahead. I was becoming increasingly skeptical after early reviews starting pouring in. Now I can say, rightfully so. How can Raimi, who hands down showed us twice over he's a man of vision. You'd think he'd at least have an idea of what he was doing here and try to surpass himself once more as he did with the first sequel... no.
Let me first say it's good to try and give depth and emotion to these characters, obviously. If your answer to this is making every single character cry all throughout the movie, I think you've lost site of this. We're fortunate enough to have scene with Peter Parker crying, Sandman crying, Mary Jane crying, Aunt may crying, Eddie Brock crying, and hell let's have Harry cry too. The audience looked as though they were ready to cry too, but for completely different reasons. What? Did I accidently buy a ticket for the Notebook or something?
Parker. Raimi's idea of showing someone being taken over by rage and becoming increasingly evil is apparently putting on mascara and rocking an emo haircut. Wait... that's not nearly evil enough, let's make him disco dance, womanize, and act completely irrational. That's evil. The only way that they could of made him more evil using this formula is if he listened to Marilyn Manson all day, played phone tag with MJ for 20 more minutes of vauable screen time, dyed his costume pink with white polkadots, and gave him a parasol umbrella to keep out of sunlight. Lame.
Gwen Stacy. This actress in her 2 or 3 short pointless scenes was able to show off how hot she was. That's about it. There was no point, no development, no reason for being there. This is the least of this film's problems. Almost as troubling as the all knowing butler of Harry's... who wasn't even eluded to in either of the first two films, who can so easily repair the broken bridge that was Peter and Harry's friendship. Cop out.
Let me get to my real beef. Venom. Resisting fanboy urges. Let me just say since I was five years old I wanted nothing more than to see my favorite villian/anti-hero of all time light up... or rather darken the big screen. I had no problem's with Topher in this role. My rage is focused on Raimi. He stated he wasn't a fan of Venom, and that he was an afterthought in this film. Well. It shows. The character just didn't fit, Brock seems out of place many times, and Venom is barely in this film at all. To say he departs prematurely would be an understatement.
Where's my closure? You set up a MJ-Parker relationship all this time, and where are things left off? Awkward. And I thought they're relationship was left awkwardly at the end of 1... no. Sandman's daughter? Who cares. Characters die that SHOULD NOT have, characters cry that should not have, and a movie was made that should not have. It amazes me after the first sequel everything still seems so fresh, by the time I finished watching 3, I felt like it made the entire franchise stale. Some scenes didn't fit, it was almost as I was watching the director's cut with added footage that didn't really fit into the film. Not to mention awkward scene changes at points. There's no doubt about it, this was made to be a money maker, not a fan pleaser. Stan Lee must have been distant from this project or I think he would of put on those Hulk gloves with sound effects and beat Raimi unconscious with them. I'm being a little too hard maybe. Don't get me wrong, everyone should go see this film, it's a definitely popcorn movie. It just could of been so much more.
Uhh....what???? - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Okay, we've all heard how the story and sub-plots were full of holes, and how the movie tended to drag a little bit. But what really irked me is how they rushed to symbiote sub-plot. First of all, the symbiote suit is a plot all unto itself, and that's what should've been the main story. That's what people who started lining up at 9:00 came to see. They didn't want to see a mediocre (at best) explanation of the symbiote br Dr. Connors, they wanted to see Marvel's version of Superman on Red Kryptonite, a total bad-ass. Not to mention Spidey's arch nemisis, Venom! He looked great, and Topher Grace did a pretty good job, but it was too short lived. How can anyone possibly justify not having Venom as the main villain. Now that I come to think of it, the villains really didn't seem that big of a threat in this movie. It seemed like a "monster of the week" episode. Show you a cool villain, then cast him away. That's exactly what it did. There was no epic battle between Spiderman and Venom, it was a fairly predictable fight with a predictable outcome, and a horrible ending. I seem to be rambling, so in closing....Mediocre story, Ok acting, Sub-par direction, Absolutley outstandig visual work, and very short, very dissapointing outcome.....

Great effects don't make up for a bad movie - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I think the guy sitting in the front row summed up the value of seeing the midnight showing of this moving: Before the movie was even over her flipped off the screen, cursed at it, and walked out. Another guy yelled, "I should have stayed home and watched infomercials."
This is in the top five worst movies of all time. It is a mix of a really lame soap opera and drugs. No reasoning. The acting was overdone, the dialog was gathered from every cheesy movie ever made, and the scenes lasted too long. The director failed at everything he was trying to do.
I almost feel like I was cheated out of the price of a ticket. The first two were enjoyable, but this one was not well thought out, hastily slopped together, and special effects lopsided. I suggest boycotting the movie to save the rest money and time. It is not fair to deliver this waste to dedicated fans.
If you must see it, rent it later....
Worst spider-man ever! - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Just came from the first screening at midnight, waited 2 hours. Was it worth it? NO!
Way too long with lots of scenes (and very silly ones if I may add) they can do without.
Too predictable.
Are they trying to make this a Spider-Man the musical? What's with Spidey's goth hair and mascara? The dancing? *shudders*
Even Dunst' 'theater' perfromance was not believable. You can tell it wasn't her singing voice.
Parker's boss buying the camera from the kid should have been cut out!
Even the British reporter covering the rescue attempt didn't seem like she belongs in the movie. Why? Can't they find a reporter actor with an American accent?
The end was way too much. His "cry" was even wierd. It even seemed like Lord Of The Rings where it the movie doesn't want to end.
The movie was okay up to the middle part and the fight sequence towards the end. I think they could have salvaged the movie during editing.
I don't know about this movie. The audience was laughing in one too many scenes and not in a good way. When the movie finally ended no one gave it any applaus like Spider-Man 2. People were too eager to leave.
Someone said "Man, they are overdoing it."
Yeah, the movie was 45 minutes too long.
Keep your $10.00 and rent the DVD. This movie was a bust!
But you know the audience enjoyed the trailer for Pirates 3, and so did I. It earned more approval and cheers than the feature film. So it wasn't a complete lost.
Tries to do too much in one film. (minor spoilers) - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
As a life-long Spidey fan, I loved the first two films - they were thoughtful, well paced, had great character development (especially the villains), and wove intricate yet 'believable' stories that added a very human touch to a comic book storyline.
Unfortunately, Spider Man 3 does none of the above.
The plot points in the storyline are too contrived and seem to consistently pop out of nowhere. Even for the die hard Spider Man fan, the film really stretches your suspension of disbelief.
For example, a meteorite happens to fall right where Peter (Spidey's alter-ego) and Mary Jane (his longtime crush and girlfriend) are stargazing in Central Park; Flint Marko, an escaped con, is running from the cops in some field where he literally STUMBLES into a concrete basin where some random scientists are conducting genetic experimentation (which ultimately turns Marko into the Sandman).
When I heard that there were going to be three villains featured in this movie, I was excited but a bit concerned about whether director Sam Raimi could adequately develop their characters. I mean, he did such a good job in Spiderman 2 with Doc Ock, he should be able to pull this one off too, right?
Wrong.
Among the villains, only the "New Goblin" Harry Osborn has any meaningful character development (and that's because he was in the last two movies). The film mentions Marko's true motives as to his villainy (he's not a bad guy, just desperate), but nothing more; which, is a shame because Thomas Hayden Church did a pretty good job with the lines that were given him.
Venom, they completely botched. There was so much potential with the Venom character - an entire film could have been about Eddie Brock and the alien symbiote. Instead, Spider Man's greatest comic-book rival is in and out in an hour, and you really can care less him. Again, it's not the acting, as Topher Grace did his part very well. The whole situation was just rushed.
The dramatic undercurrent was pretty good, which really speaks more to the potential this film had. Mary Jane and Peter's relationship struggles were true-to-form, the love triangle angle between the couple and Harry was interesting, the best friends/bitter rivals relationship between Peter and Harry was well executed, and of course Aunt May is still there to give Peter advice (though that's all she seems to do in these films). However, I really did not like the way all of these individual plot lines were resolved at the end of the film. It just wasn't natural, feeling more like a rush to the finish line. And, if this is indeed the last time we see Tobey McGuire don the Spidey suit, this series definitely deserved better than that.
The special effects were incredible though - especially the last battle scene, which was amazing from a visual standpoint. And the fight sequences were pretty unique as well.
All in all, if you're a Spidey fan, you're going to see this anyway. If you're not, don't expect too much.
The best spider-man has ever made! - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
This movie is definitely better that two other spider man movies. It's so action, full of graphic and nice visual effects. Putting three different characters (spider man enemies), and giving a part of story to each of them is not an easy thing to make. This movie could be seprated to three diferent movies, but they brought all in one. The only problem is that they don't have enough time to explain the new characters.
Wonderful movie, great actors, great story, good direction, and hilarious visuals. They could finish the movie in the better way, but they didn't, and there is nothing after the credits (Like X-men 3), so don't waste your time to see what's after the credits. Overall, this movie is the best spider-man has ever made, and I'm sure that you will love it.
How to enjoy spiderman 3 - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
First off, should you watch the movie? OF COURSE you should!! Be entertained, have fun. It's good. *However*, you'll need to adjust your expectations. Here's why in 3 easy steps--
STEP#1(and this is a big one): Remember that it's based on a comic book. To hold true to the artform and style of the comic book, camera angles and character dialogue are made to look a little cheezy. Peter Parker's downtown-stroll montage might make you feel embarassed and awkward for the creators of the movie, make you have a "my god no no no, what are you guys doing....." reaction from Peter Parker's transformation to Emo Parker. It might hurt, but think of it as a harmless comic bit and it'll be fun. In fact, I loved Spidey's "bad-ass" attitude; it provided a refreshing contrast to our shy and compassionate nerd-boy.
STEP#2: Forget the fact that the first two "Spiderman"s had only one bad guy. This one has three; adjust to having multiple story lines thrown at you from start to finish. You'll definitely feel like your chain's being pulled in this movie, constantly wondering what's happening with the other story lines and how they fit in with what you're currently looking at on the screen. Keep up and know NOT expect to find just one main plot-line.
STEP#3: have fun. Hold back your urge to compare it to Spiderman or Spiderman 2; were the creators too ambitious with this film? Yes. Did they step out of place with the multiple villains, themes, and conflicts? Definitely. Too many hands in the storyline pot--revenge, devotion, forgiveness, morality, hatred, consumption, leadership, on and on, to take them all seriously. BUT is it a good movie to watch? No question. It's sure to make you laugh(main AND secondary characters), cry(figuratively), cringe, and amaze you with computer animation(what's new?) and even better fight scenes.
Read this if you want a real review - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
It is 4:30 in the morning and I am sitting on my couch after just getting back from seeing Spiderman 3. I want to let everyone know something before they read all the other reviews:
You will see reviews that say it sucked %100
You will see reviews that say it was amazing
The only problem with both of these kinds of reviews is that they don't explain much. Personally, by my ratings, I very much liked this movie although it could've been done a little better. Kirsten Dunst is an amazing actor and I really don't care if anyone wants to disagree with me. The special effects were 'like real' and it is a very good movie to take children who look up to the web slinger.
The people who don't like this movie are the people who only want to see non-stop action and who could care less about a story and they should just stick to WWF and NWO wrestling.
The people that liked the movie are into a more of an adventure and, although enjoying a little bit of action and drama, see the story as something beautiful and how we can relate it to every day life.
So, this is a very simple conclusion. If you are the type of person who clearly just wants to see action, you will not be satisfied. If you just want to see people making out the whole time, you won't be completely satisfied. However, if you enjoy a mixture of a good story with some action, blood, and drama, you WILL enjoy this movie.
I recommend that people go to the cinemas to view this film as that is where it is meant to be viewed. I hope this review will help everyone out!!
