Venimous taste in mouth... - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
Just got home from the midnight preveiw and I have to say I have a bit of a venimous taste in my mouth. I had very high expectations for this movie and I can't say I was disappointed but some of it was just a tad bit overdone. Yes, it was full of awesome fighting sequences and tons of action. Yes, It has a vague plotline, and a bunch of subplots. The only thing I found funny about this movie, though, is that they tryed too hard to add comedy to it and that some parts of it just didn't make sense. The vilians, seeking vengeance or redeption, just didn't seem so beleivable because their relationship to Spiderman/Parker wasn't nearly as deep or meaningful as the vilians in the previous movies. Venom's role was a little shortlived, but still fun, of course. It's just such a long detailed movie, with about 2 or 3 subplots, like the love connection, career goals, and personal problems that seemed to have a bigger impact on the movie than the main plot itself. Plus there were all these little added parts, such as the girl with the cookies and the random dancing while strollin on the street, plus a bit of cheesiness with the American Flag and other tidbits of things that didn't really add to the movie. I still wonder how they're going to come up with a 4th movie since it leaves you feeling like the majority of the issues have been taken care of, but there's enough to maybe scrap a last and final Spiderman film. Despite all the randomness and questionable themes, the movie still held tight pretty well and came out as a Great action flick with absolutely amazing visuals and a pretty decent storyline. It won't leave you completely satisfied, but if you're looking for a fun, interesting, and maybe a bit predictable Spiderman adventure then this movie's your ticket!
