Just a bad film - Spider-Man 3 Reviews
I'm always willing to give a popcorn film a chance. Some movies are fun and they're not supposed to be taken seriously. Nothing wrong with that.
Sometimes, though, you get the sense that the writers of these films, on occasion rather than taking pride in entertaining us, almost seem like they're mocking us.
Case in point Spider-Man 3.
The movie was just bad. It almost seemed like the writers took every cliched plot device they could think of and stuffed it in the film. The movie is just bloated, foolish, and uninteresting.
The sad part is, that there really was room for a good movie. There's a good story in there... Somewhere, but the movie is just too clouded with "The OC" style melodrama that you can't even take the "real" drama seriously.
When the humorless "comic relief" isn't popping up at inopportune moments when you're trying to take the action and drama seriously, it's unending and bizarre. Sometimes you need relief from the comic relief.
I'm sure some Spider-Man fans will still like it. That's fine. It's possible to be a fan of something to the point where your judgment is clouded.
For everybody else, you were warned.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot the special effects are pretty good.
