I hate movies and i liked it - Spider-Man 3 Reviews

The critical success of the Spiderman films have always been due to the plots that correlate with the comics they are based on. People were wowed after the first two films but honestly it had little to do with the directing and acting and everything to do with the fact the Spiderman story is intriguing. Most people never read the comics so their only exposure to Spiderman was the 70's and 90's cartoon which provide a very superficial understanding of the character. The comics were more plot driven. It's not a suprise why the critics hated it. Spiderman 2 was based on a series of issues that were very character driven. This movie is based on the more action inspired issues which include Venom. And with a character like Venom, you run the risk of him appearing really cheesy on the big screen if he is not done right. And he clearly wasn't done right. You can't star a Peter Parker clone in Topher Grace. They should have cast a bully-like character such as Vin Diesel or someone who is more physically imposing and would look like a raging psychopath. I also wasn't fond of the Green Goblin II not wearing a mask. He just looked like a skater on some air board from Back to the Future II. Lastly, Kirsten Dunst needs to starting acting like Mary Jane instead of Kirsten Dunst. Mary Jane is a hippie not a giddy 5 year old. Overall, I liked this film and it offerred something different in each scene unlike Superman Returns which blatantly copied plotlines from Superman the movie.
