One word: entertaining - Spider-Man 3 Reviews

Ok, does it live up to the hype? No. Is it still entertaining? YES! Although I do think that Spider-man 2 is more well-written and overall a better movie, Spider-man 3 is hands down more entertaining. Here are the things that you're probably worried about. The dance number? Not a huge deal. The audience that I saw it with at midnight loved it, and I thought it worked fine. Very similar to "Rain drops keep falling on my head" scene in the second movie. Are there to many villains? Well, yeah, but the action is still amazing and the character development is present, but not as strong as the other two installments. They either should have kept Harry and the Sandman or Harry and Venom. Having all three makes things seem way too rushed. Venom was obviously added into the script in the last minute, and it REALLY shows. Which brings me to my next point: they could have just made this movie about Harry Vs. Spider-man. I didn't think they could, but the first 30 minutes of the movie was simply amazing and it focused soley on Harry and Peter. That is the part of the movie that really works. Here is the main point: there are three distinct movie plots that are trying to gain control over Spider-man 3. None of them prevail, which makes the plot seem confusing and almost non-existent. Overall, the movie handles itself well, but could have been perfection if they settled down on what villains they wanted, what themes they wanted to present, and what conclusion they wanted for the series. This movie is NOT Batman Forever or X3. Spider-man 3 is something that both of those movies wish they could have been: entertaing.
