How to enjoy spiderman 3 - Spider-Man 3 Reviews

First off, should you watch the movie? OF COURSE you should!! Be entertained, have fun. It's good. *However*, you'll need to adjust your expectations. Here's why in 3 easy steps-- STEP#1(and this is a big one): Remember that it's based on a comic book. To hold true to the artform and style of the comic book, camera angles and character dialogue are made to look a little cheezy. Peter Parker's downtown-stroll montage might make you feel embarassed and awkward for the creators of the movie, make you have a "my god no no no, what are you guys doing....." reaction from Peter Parker's transformation to Emo Parker. It might hurt, but think of it as a harmless comic bit and it'll be fun. In fact, I loved Spidey's "bad-ass" attitude; it provided a refreshing contrast to our shy and compassionate nerd-boy. STEP#2: Forget the fact that the first two "Spiderman"s had only one bad guy. This one has three; adjust to having multiple story lines thrown at you from start to finish. You'll definitely feel like your chain's being pulled in this movie, constantly wondering what's happening with the other story lines and how they fit in with what you're currently looking at on the screen. Keep up and know NOT expect to find just one main plot-line. STEP#3: have fun. Hold back your urge to compare it to Spiderman or Spiderman 2; were the creators too ambitious with this film? Yes. Did they step out of place with the multiple villains, themes, and conflicts? Definitely. Too many hands in the storyline pot--revenge, devotion, forgiveness, morality, hatred, consumption, leadership, on and on, to take them all seriously. BUT is it a good movie to watch? No question. It's sure to make you laugh(main AND secondary characters), cry(figuratively), cringe, and amaze you with computer animation(what's new?) and even better fight scenes.
